Afrilens News publisher, Abiodun Olumide Daniels clocks twenty-six years today.
The astute businessman who was born exactly twenty-six years ago took to social media to share his life’s story, as father rejects his pregnancy and never showed up to welcome him at birth.
Sharing the story on his Facebook and Instagram handle, the publisher shared a scanned image of a letter written by his grandfather (maternal) to his paternal grandfather congratulating him about the birth of his grandchild and requesting his co-operation for the discharge of the baby and his mother from the hospital.
Part of the letter reads “…that the pregnancy has peacefully yielded a baby boy on 2/4/93. Both the baby & mother are still lying at Comfort Nursing Home, Oshodi”.
As he celebrates his birthday, he reached out to less privileged children in his neighbourhood and fed them, noting that “there is no point for celebrating life when children still starve to death around us”.
The foundation named ‘Afrilens News Foundation’ is set to launch on Children’s day, May 27th 2019, with the feeding of a thousand children across Lagos.
