The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in the March 9 Governorship election in Oyo state, Chief Adebayo Adelabu has filed a petition at the Election Petition Tribunal challenging the victory of Engineer Seyi Makinde as the winner of March 9 governorship election in the state.
SouthWesternNewsupdate reports that the petition was jointly filed by the candidate Adebayo Adelabu as the first petitioner and his party, All Progressives Congress (APC) as the second petitioner.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Makinde winner of the governorship election after polling 515,621 votes to defeat Adelabu who had 357,982 votes.
The Petition is having Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, as first respondent and Engineer Seyi Makinde and Peoples Democratic Party as second and third respondents.
A total number of 32 election petitions had been filed before the Oyo State Election Tribunal for both the Governorship election, National Assembly and State House of Assembly elections. One (1) for governorship, Four (4) for National Assembly, twelve (12) for House of Representatives, and fifteen (15) for State House of Assembly.
