Popular socialite and nightlife entrepreneur Cubana Chief Priest has reportedly found himself at the center of intense political uncertainty following claims of a last-minute scramble for survival after allegedly failing to secure a political ticket, triggering speculation about possible defections and behind-the-scenes negotiations.
According to information circulating in political circles and unverified reports reaching AfriLensnews, Cubana Chief Priest was said to have made frantic efforts to seek alternative political platforms after allegedly feeling disappointed and betrayed by close political associates and power blocs that he had expected to support his ambitions.
Sources claimed the celebrity businessman, reportedly frustrated over what insiders described as a “political setback,” reached out to former Bayelsa governor and senator Seriake Dickson in what was described as an attempt to explore political options under the NDC platform.
The reports alleged that Cubana Chief Priest believed his aspirations had suffered a major blow after failing to secure a ticket, leaving him politically stranded and searching for alternatives before electoral timelines closed.
According to the information received, the move may have stemmed from feelings of disappointment with i”President Son” and members of an APC City Boys structure, whom sources alleged failed to stand by him during the crucial stage of the process.
However, the alleged outreach reportedly hit a wall as Senator Dickson turned down the request, reportedly stating that: “It’s too late, the INEC deadline has passed.”
As of press time, there has been no official confirmation from Cubana Chief Priest or Senator Dickson regarding the alleged conversation. No formal statement has
also been issued by electoral authorities.
The development has raised fresh questions over what lies ahead for Cubana Chief Priest and whether there remains any realistic path back into the political race.
Political observers note that under Nigeria’s electoral framework, deadlines established by the Independent National Electoral Commission for party submissions and candidate documentation are usually critical stages that can determine who remains eligible. Missing such timelines can significantly narrow available options except in circumstances involving substitutions or legal windows provided under electoral law.
This has sparked speculation over whether another platform, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC), could still become an option if internal processes and electoral requirements permit.
Analysts argue that if the reported developments are accurate, Cubana Chief Priest may be confronting his first major political lesson , that influence in entertainment and social circles does not always automatically translate into political structures and ticket negotiations.

The unfolding situation could carry consequences beyond one individual. It may also revive conversations around celebrity participation in Nigerian politics, internal party loyalty, and the intense struggles often hidden behind political endorsements and alliances.
For now, questions remain unanswered: Is there still time for another move? Can a fresh platform emerge? Or has the political clock already run out?
Until official confirmation emerges, much of the narrative remains within the realm of political speculation.
