Hon. Muregi Felicitates With Teachers On World Teachers’ Day

The Executive Chairman of Mokwa Local Government Council, Niger State, Hon. Comr. Amb. Jibrin Abdullahi Muregi, Dan Ajiyan Nupe, has felicitated with teachers across Mokwa Local Government Area, Niger State, and Nigeria on the occasion of the 2026 World Teachers’ Day.

In a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Haruna Saidu Kinbokun, the Executive Chairman acknowledged the sacrifices, dedication and commitment of teachers to the development of society and nation-building.

Hon. Muregi, who was once a classroom teacher with over 15 years of teaching experience, said he fully understands the challenges and responsibilities associated with the teaching profession. He described teachers as the foundation upon which every progressive society is built, stressing that they play a vital role in shaping the minds, character and future of generations.

According to him, teachers are the mirrors of every society, as virtually every profession and institution depends on the knowledge and values imparted by teachers.

He assured teachers in Mokwa Local Government Area that his administration remains committed to supporting initiatives aimed at improving their welfare, strengthening their working conditions and providing a more conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.

The Executive Chairman further expressed confidence in the commitment of the administration of His Excellency, Farmer Mohammed Umar Bago, Executive Governor of Niger State, towards improving the education sector and the welfare of teachers across the State.

He stated that both the Mokwa Local Government Council and the Niger State Government remain open to constructive engagement and collaboration with teachers and relevant stakeholders in the pursuit of improved welfare packages and better working conditions for educators.

Hon. Muregi also appreciated teachers for their continuous commitment and sacrifices, despite the challenges confronting the profession. He called on teachers across Mokwa Local Government Area and Niger State to continue supporting the administration of His Excellency, Farmer Mohammed Umar Bago, as it works towards achieving the objectives of the New Niger Agenda.

He congratulated all teachers on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day and prayed for continued strength, wisdom and success in their noble service to humanity.
