The Senator representing Imo North Senatorial District (Okigwe Zone), popularly called the Legacy Senator, has commiserated with the Management and Students of the College of Nursing Science, Umulogho in Obowu LGA of Imo State, as well as the People of Isiala Ngwa in Abia State, over the gruesome murder of one Miss Wendy Achumba, a female nursing student.
In his Message of Condolence, Sen. Ndubueze condemned the act in very strong terms, while reassuring that he was committed to securing justice for the victim and family.
“On behalf of my family and the good People of Imo North Senatorial District (Okigwe Zone) I, Senator Patrick Ndubueze, express my deep commiseration with and extend my heartfelt condolences to the Students and Management of the College of Nursing Science, Umulogho and the entire people of Obowo LGA, Imo State as well as the immediate family of Late Miss Wendy Achumba of Isiala Ngwa, Abia State, over the gruesome murder of our promising young daughter and sister, Wendy Achumba, a female nursing student whose precious life was recently cut short by some heartless hoodlums” Sen. Ndubueze wrote
“The incident came to me and my constituents as a rude shock and intense pains. It is totally unacceptable and unbearable to me that a child, youth or any person whatsoever, should suffer such a dastardly fate within my constituency.
It is quite regrettable and I pledge to collaborate with the Imo State government and security agencies in the State to relentlessly pursue the matter until the perpetrators of the heinous crime are brought to justice” He continued
“The swift response of the leadership and people of Umulogho Community and the security operatives within the locality that led to the identification and quick apprehension of suspects linked to the crime is appreciated”. The Legacy Senator further stated
“Undoubtedly, it cannot be easy for any parent, institution or community to pass through this harrowing experience but be assured that my heart is with you in this period of sorrow” the Senator affirmed
“May the soul of Wendy rest in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen”. Sen Patrick Ndubueze concluded
The Legacy Senator used the medium to recommit to the security of lives and properties within his jurisdiction.
