The Labour Party hereby notifies the general public, party members, and all aspirants participating in the Party’s 2027 primary elections that the primaries earlier scheduled for 27th May 2026 (Governorship and State Houses of Assembly) and 29th May 2026 (Presidential and National Assembly) have been rescheduled.
Consequently, all primaries for the offices of President, Governor, Senate, House of Representatives, and State Houses of Assembly will now hold simultaneously on Saturday, 30th May 2026.
According to the National Publicity Secretary of Labour Party (LP), Ken Eluma Asogwa, the decision became necessary due to the coincidence of the earlier dates with two important national events. The 27th May date coincides with the 2026 Eid el-Kabir (Eid al-Adha) celebration, while 29th May marks the third anniversary of the inauguration of elected public office holders across the country.
In consideration of the spiritual significance of the Sallah celebration and the importance of the 29th May anniversary, the Labour Party deemed it appropriate to adjust its schedule to enable members, aspirants, supporters, and Nigerians generally to fully observe these occasions.

The Party regrets any inconvenience this adjustment may occasion and appreciates the understanding and cooperation of aspirants, stakeholders, supporters, and members of the public.
