President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared Nigeria’s full solidarity with Gulf nations including Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates following attacks linked to the escalating US–Israel confrontation with Iran.

Speaking at the State House in Abuja while receiving Letters of Credence from newly appointed envoys, the president praised the affected countries for what he described as restraint under pressure, stressing Nigeria’s commitment to global peace.

“Let me first of all congratulate all of you and use this opportunity to say that the Federal Republic of Nigeria expresses its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Kuwait, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in the face of the recent attacks and say that we will always strive for peace and stability across the world.

“The world needs tranquillity, peace and love. We share that solidarity with all of you in that region,” he said.

Tinubu told the diplomats that Nigeria remains open to stronger bilateral and multilateral cooperation, noting that his administration is pursuing reforms aimed at positioning the country as a competitive destination for investment and innovation.

“You are arriving in Nigeria at a pivotal period in our national trajectory. My administration is undertaking bold and necessary economic reforms designed to reposition Nigeria as a globally competitive hub for investment, innovation, and sustainable economic growth,” he stated.

The president reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to regional stability through the Economic Community of West African States, emphasizing the need for collective action in addressing security challenges across West Africa and the Sahel.

He added that global crises—from climate change to shifting geopolitical dynamics—require cooperation among nations, assuring the envoys of Nigeria’s readiness to work with their governments for “a fairer, more secure world order.”
