…Extends Power Supply to Amata communities

BY  CHIJIOKE ASOGWA

Senator Victor Umeh, representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, has donated an electric transformer to St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Adazi-Nnukwu, Anambra State, in a move expected to improve electricity supply to the church and neighbouring communities.

The transformer is also expected to serve parts of Amata Clan around St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, bringing potential relief to residents who stand to benefit from improved access to electricity.

Afrilensnews reports that the donation was announced by the ATDU Media Team, which identified  Chief Sir Victor Umeh (OFR), with the title ‘Nwannedinamba Adazi-Nnukwu”.

The intervention is expected to strengthen electricity supply within the benefiting areas, potentially supporting religious activities, small businesses, domestic needs and other community engagements that depend on a reliable power supply.

Recall that the lawmaker had also given a 300/KVA transformers to Umubele Village, Awka South LGA at Ezeudo Square and Isuaniocha, Awka- North LGA of the state in September.

For residents and business owners in the affected parts of Amata Clan, improved electricity access could help reduce dependence on petrol-powered generators, lower operating costs and create a more conducive environment for commercial activities, subject to the transformer’s installation, connection and effective operation.

The donation and other interventions by the parliamentarian also highlights the role of community-focused interventions in addressing local infrastructure challenges, particularly in areas where access to stable electricity remains important for social and economic development.
